The Late Mr. Joe Rumore****July 17, 1920-December 20, 1993****
Mr. Joe Rumore was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on July 17, 1920. After finishing high school, Mr. Rumore went to work at
WJLD in Bessemer with his pal Leland Childs. From there, he went to WSFA in Montgomery and then to WAPI in Birmingham where
he worked for six years. Mr. Rumore began his DJing at WVOK in October of 1948 and remained there until 1982.
