**** Attention WVOK fans. Need your help in locating WVOK airchecks from any of the DJs during the 1960s and 1970s. XM
Satelitte Radio has paid tributes to WBAM and WAPE. If we can locate and provide enough materials from WVOK maybe we can
get Terry "Motor Mouth" Young to feature WVOK, The Mighty 690, on an upcoming show. ****

Devoted to the greatest radio station in Birmingham, Alabama.
The Mighty 690 **WVOK** was located on the Bessemer Super Highway and is no longer on the air. The building has since been torn down, however I understand, the cooling pool
and tower remains. Transmitting at 50,000 watts.
The DJs --- Dan Brennan, the late Joe Rumore, Johnny Davis,
the late Hal Hodgens, Johnnie Hayes, Alan Burns, the late Jim Allen and Don Keith kept the station rocking.
Looking for air checks, information pertaining to the DJs and memorabilia from WVOK. Also, I would like to hear from some of you teen DJs.
